About AchievingLife Network

AchievingLife Network is an online service that allows members to set up unique personal profiles, search and view other member profiles, and view advertisements based on communities on BikerTouring and/or interests on AchievingLife main site. AchievingLife Network members can view each others' profiles, communicate with old friends and meet new friends, share photos through a small photo page, post journals and comments, and describe their interests. To enrich our members' experience, a member profile shows information that is specifically selected by you to make available and visible to other members, approved friends, and possibly visitors. Members can change their profile information at any time and can control the ability of other members to view their page. The site cares very deeply about online privacy and creating a site with limits on access by outside sites. Information Collection and Use by AchievingLife Network

AchievingLife Network primarily collects user submitted information such as name, email address, and age to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating to the AchievingLife Network service. This includes to send out newsletters that members may opt out of. AchievingLife Network also collects other profile data including but not limited to: personal interests, gender, age, education and occupation in order to assist users in finding and communicating with each other and for the statistics page. Future non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site may be obtained. This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses may be recorded for security and monitoring purposes. WE DO NOT USE OUTSIDE ADVERTISING COMPANIES UNLESS STATED AS SUCH ABOVE THE ADS WITH THE LETTERS NAL IN CAPS. Our goal is to create a site that will leave minimal traces on your computer and provide a safe and secure site.

Use of Profile Information

User Profile information including members' pictures and first names are displayed to people in order to facilitate user interaction in the AchievingLife Network social networking communities. Email addresses are used to invite new friends to join, to add users to members' friends' networks, and to send notifications related to the service. With the exception of inviting friends, adding friends, and notifications, a user's email address is not shared or displayed to people within a user's personal network, unless chosen to be displayed by the member on their profile.

Use of e-mail addresses

We may use a user's email address to send updates, a newsletter or news regarding the service. AchievingLife Network stores the email addresses for verrification puposes. Those who wish to have their e-mail address removed may contact achievinglife@gmail.com - such requests will result in the removal of any profiles associated with that e-mail address and being placed on a black list preventing that address from being used in future mailings as well as prevention of address in creating a user profile for a period of 5 years or with physical written and verbal request by user.

Additional information

To facilitate searching and finding friends and acquaintances on the service, AchievingLife Network allows users to search for other members using first and last name, email address, schools and/or companies where users may have attended or worked, and any other data which may be found on a profile. From time to time, AchievingLife Network or a partner may sponsor a promotion, sweepstake or contest on AchievingLife Network. Users may be asked to provide personal information including name, email address or home address, or to answer questions in order to participate. In this instance upon your permision (clicking on the link/submitting information), we may transfer personal information to certain ad partners that you have explicitly requested to receive information from. It will be clear at the point of collection who is collecting the personal information and whose privacy statement will apply.

Use of Cookies ( Milk Please?)

Currently, AchievingLife Network is not fully utilizing cookies. Please be advised that some of our advertisers may utilize cookies as may features such as rss feeds from outside sites. We do not control those cookies nor can we be held responsible for them. Please review further below under the subheading “Third Party Advertising,” for more information. In future updates to the site, we may have to incorporate further use of cookies. At that time, we will update the privacy policy, as well as send an e-mail notification and a notice on the member home page.

What we do use are session variables. As such, if you are using Internet Explorer you may place your settings for Security: High and Privacy: Medium High and have no problems viewing the site. The session variable relies upon a client-side cookie to store the session identifier, without this PHP would be resorting to placing the identifier in the URL which would be more insecure. The cookie that may be used in this instance is set to expire as soon as the user closes his browser.

Archiving of information

AchievingLife Network will not keep archives of user information nor of access logs, except where needed to ensure recovery from any unexpected hardware or software failures, or in maintaining site statistics. With current process of revamping the site older information may become unavailable.

Correcting/Updating or Removing Information

AchievingLife Network users may modify or remove any of their personal information at any time by logging into their account and accessing features under their Home page.

Third Party Advertising

Ads appearing on this site will be delivered to users by AchievingLife Network. Information is taken based on your default home pages to generate which ads will be visible, browsing ads does not alter your home page. This privacy statement covers the usage only on AchievingLife Network and its related sites. It does not cover the use of cookies or any other devices by any advertisers that appear on their website.

Member accounts are secured by member-created passwords. AchievingLife Network takes precautions to insure that member account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect member information that is stored within our database, and we restrict access to member information to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, currently only the the owners Ray Helton and Debra Macking. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of member account information. Except as otherwise described in this privacy statement, AchievingLife Network will not disclose personal information to any third party unless we believe that disclosure is necessary: (1) to conform to legal requirements or to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other legal process received by AchievingLife Network, whether or not a response is required by applicable law; (2) to enforce the AchievingLife Network Terms of Use Agreement or to protect our rights; or (3) to protect the safety of members of the public and users of the service. Changes in Our Privacy Policy

From time to time we may make changes to our privacy policy If we make changes, we will post that there have been changes in the News & Updates section as well as send an e-mail to members allerting them that changes have been made. Users ought to always be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and when we may disclose it. A user is bound by all changes to the policy when she or he uses/accesses the site after those changes have been posted if, however, we are going to use users' personally identifiable information in a manner materially different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify by posting a notice on our web site for 30 days.
