Sacred Grounds Coffee Shop:
A talk with Karen Lowman, the owner of the coffee shop that's “Brewing community since 1996”
Sacred Grounds was created in 1996 at its original location on Bruce B Downs Blvd. In 1999, the community was growing and the shop moved to its new and larger location on Busch Blvd.
One has been able to find much to enjoy at Sacred Grounds from special coffee blends that relax and energize, open mic nights to express ones creativity, to talented musicians playing true grass roots music.
Over the past few years, Sacred Grounds has a growing focus of Health and Wellness awareness. This includes bringing in healthy snacks and items including wraps and a terrific quesadilla with olives, hummus, and artichoke hearts.
Another addition is Health & Wellness events and seminars. Already there has been a couple of Healing days, a weekend retreat, and events to benefit local charities. Starting in June there will be two Healing Life & Music days. The first will be June 13 th with various healing modalities and items available from 2-8pm then from 8-midnight ambient and fun healing music. The event will benefit PKD (polycystic kidney disease).
In asking Karen what it meant for Sacred Grounds to be ‘Achieving Life' the response was focused back on the motto of Brewing Community. Sacred Grounds thrives as it brings in new talent, attracts new people, creates new healthy & fun events, and mostly as it brings together a community centered on acceptance, respect, and lots of smiles!
So, through delicious coffees, teas, Italian sodas, and snacks to music, poetry, and healing; community is brewing at Sacred Grounds and it both tastes and feels great!
